FAQ - Conn’s Catering

1. WHAT IS YOUR PER PERSON PRICE?

We customize our menu per client to meet event and budgetary needs, so there is no set per person price. Typically, based on 100 guests, an hors d’oeuvres reception ranges $35-$55/pp. Hors d’oeuvres & Buffet dinner typically ranges $55 -$75/pp. Plated & Served Dinner ranges $75-$100/pp. Some variables include bar package selection, china or upscale disposable, and duration of the event. Our sales team will be happy to schedule a private consultation to discuss the specifics and assist with the planning of your event.

2. CAN CONN’S CATERING PROVIDE EVERYTHING I NEED?

Yes, we are full service, and can provide banquet, service, highboy & cabaret tables, natural wood or white folding chairs, linens, linen napkins, chair linens, china, glassware, stainless flatware, upscale disposables, and invitations.

3. DO YOUR MENU PRICES INCLUDE RENTALS, DISPOSABLE, & LABOR?

Our menu prices are for food & beverage only. Staffing, rental, disposable, and delivery fees are separate line items. Delivery & setup fee is determined by zip code and the amount of setup your event requires.

4. CAN YOU PROVIDE ETHNIC FOOD STATIONS?

Yes, in addition to our current menu, we provide Indian, Thai, Cajun, and Mexican cuisine. Please contact us for pricing information.

5. DO YOU CHARGE FOR TASTINGS?

Conn’s Catering conducts a tasting every quarter, where we feature a variety of hors d’oeuvres, elegant entrees, desserts, wedding cakes, invitations, linens, china, glassware, upscale disposables and more. Our recommended florists, DJs, photographers, and other wedding vendors are also in attendance. There is no charge for a tasting, but we do ask that you RSVP so our chefs know how much food to prepare.

6. DO YOU HOLD PRIVATE CONSULTATIONS?

Yes, we encourage on site meetings to personally discuss the specifics of your event, and assist with the event planning.

7. CAN I PROVIDE MY OWN CAKE?

Yes, you may use an outside baker for your cake, or you may choose to purchase the cake through our wholesale baker.

8. IS THERE A CAKE CUTTING FEE?

A cake cutting fee is incorporated into the cost of the labor, therefore, our staff will be happy to complete your cake cutting at no additional charge.

9. DOES CONN’S CATERING USE OUTSIDE STAFFING AGENCIES?

No. Our staff is hired and trained by our Catering Director and Event Captains. Every Conn’s Catering employee is also required to complete the Illinois Beverage Alcohol Sellers and Servers Education Training (B.A.S.S.E.T) Certification to protect the safety of you and your guests.

10. CAN I PROVIDE MY OWN LIQUOR?

It depends on the venue. Chicago Park District locations DO NOT allow clients to bring their own liquor – it must be provided through the caterer. Other facilities do allow it, and we have a Garnish Service (mixes, ice, fruit garnish) available.

11. DO YOU CHARGE A CORKAGE FEE?

Usage of our catering liquor license and two million dollar liquor liability insurance is already included in the price of our Bar and Garnish Service packages. If a client provides all liquor, garnish, ice, etc., a Corkage Fee may apply.

12. WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

Cash, Check, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Diner’s, and Discover cards.

13. CAN I MAKE CHANGES AFTER I’VE BOOKED?

Yes, changes to your menu, staffing needs, and rentals can be made up to three weeks prior to the date of your event.

14. DO YOU HAVE REFERENCES?

Yes, and we’ll be happy to email you our list upon request.
